Dawn "Blog" Studios

Scribe is currently in its nascent stages. It aims to be a minor fun blogging engine, without the added frills of a million plugins and all that. Currently, it's hosted at http://github.com/indranil/scribe/

It's still not usable without instructions, but we'll get there.

I'm fairly new to CodeIgniter and love working with it. I've created a couple of sites with it, and it is a joy to work with. It's very easy to pickup, and you only require some basic programming skills to dive into CodeIgniter and have fun with it.

I decided to create a simple series, hopefully in 2 or 3 parts, to create a job directory similar in function to Authentic Jobs, so that new users can jump in and try their hands at CodeIgniter through a real life example.

To start with, here's what the app will do :

• Let prospective employers post a job through a form.
• Let job hunters search for jobs using various criteria and get a listing.

That's all I can come up with for the moment. If you want added functionality, kindly comment about it, and I'll add it. Remember, this is meant for very basic educational purposes on building a real life app with CodeIgniter.

Expect the first part by tonight.

It appears to me that I have a love-hate relationship with blogs. I've had countless, deleted most, written in a few, and most of all, lost interest with most.

So, why start a blog once again? Well, because there are a lot of things which I like to talk about. And it's time I finally put them somewhere. So why not a blog? And while I'm at it, why not Habari?

Some of you may remember my blog Troidus. I blogged there, on and off, for roughly 3 years. Maybe I'll retire the old content some day. But not today. Today, I mark the beginning of Dawn "Blog" Studios.
